About Us

Plymouth Sports Charity has been running since October 2010. We are based in Plymouth and the surrounding area and use sport and healthy activity as its main tool to achieve its aims of making healthy activity accessible, improving mental and physical health whilst working closely to tackle social barriers.  Since the start the charity has grown from strength to strength and now is one of the leading providers of accessible sport and qualifications in the area. The Charity has two founding members who have been in the industry for 18 years each and share a passion for providing activities to those who need it most.

The Charity has been fortunate to work with some great organisations to achieve life changing results for individuals and communities whilst establishing sustainable fitness sessions in deprived areas. The charity has been awarded direct claim status for qualifications through 1st 4 Sport and Qualsafe. This has enabled us to qualify community members in fitness instruction, first aid, sports coaching as well as safeguarding, leading to life long skills and improved employment chances. By up-skilling these communities we believe we can give the skills to make a lasting change in their areas and continue the projects work. Other work includes 55+ healthy activities, running sessions, youth boxing groups, ladies only fitness, and many more. All of these provide professional coaching/support to individuals and communities without the high costs and expectations. Our aim is a healthy community with support and opportunities to develop.
